Ireland's vape tax applies to nicotine-free e-liquid too, and it goes up again on 1 January 2027. The Government has also passed a ban on single-use vapes, including 0mg ones, which is expected to take full effect in early 2027. If you vape 0mg disposables, nothing about your vape has to change except the device. A refillable pod kit and a bottle of 0mg e-liquid give you the same nicotine-free vape, with far more flavours, at a fraction of the cost per ml. Here's how to make the switch in three steps.
Why are 0mg disposables disappearing?
- The vape tax covers 0mg too. Since 1 November 2025, Ireland's E-liquid Products Tax applies to nicotine-free e-liquid as well as nicotine e-liquid. Budget 2027 adds a further 20c per ml from 1 January 2027.
- Single-use vapes are being banned. The single-use vape ban passed by the Oireachtas in July 2026 covers single-use vapes whether they contain nicotine or not. Shops get a six-month sell-off period, and the ban is expected to take full effect in early 2027.
- Less stock is coming in. With the ban this close, 0mg disposables are getting harder to source, and several of our flavours have already sold out.

Step 1: pick a refillable kit

Step 2: pick your 0mg e-liquid
- 10ml 0mg bottles, like Hale Strawberry 0mg, are ready to use in any pod kit.
- 50ml and 100ml shortfills, like OB Tobacco and OB Sensational Menthol, are sold nicotine-free. Bottles over 10ml can only be sold at 0mg under EU rules, so just don't add a nicotine shot and your liquid stays 0mg.

Step 3: fill up and vape
- Fill the pod through its fill port, leaving a small gap at the top.
- Let the filled pod stand for about 5 minutes so the coil soaks fully.
- Click the pod in and take gentle puffs to start.
- Replace the pod when the flavour fades or it starts to taste burnt.

Are shortfills really nicotine-free?
Yes. Under EU rules, bottles bigger than 10ml can only be sold at 0mg. A shortfill stays nicotine-free unless you add a nicotine shot yourself.
