What's actually happening?
Two separate changes are going on:
- Disposable vapes: single-use vapes are being banned in Ireland, with a transition period expected to end around early 2027. Refillable and reusable kits are not part of that ban.
- Flavours: a separate bill would restrict e-liquid flavours to tobacco and unflavoured, as well as restricting colours and imagery on packaging. The government has said it wants this in place before the end of 2026, but it isn't law yet.
