This older article was originally framed as a customer interview. The September 2026 update removes personal quotations and health-outcome claims so one person’s experience is not presented as medical evidence.
Why this matters: A customer story can be meaningful, but it does not prove that a product caused a health improvement or that the same route will work for somebody else.
What a Responsible Quitting Story Should Include
- Clear consent from the person quoted
- An accurate record of what they actually said
- No invented identity, age, timeline or result
- No medical conclusion drawn from one person’s experience
- Current official quitting guidance beside the story
The Current HSE Position
The HSE does not recommend vaping as a stop-smoking aid. It recommends support from a trained stop-smoking adviser, GP or pharmacist and licensed stop-smoking medicines. The best plan depends on the individual’s dependence, health and previous quit attempts.
If You Are Thinking About Quitting
Ask for evidence-based support, make a practical plan for cravings and treat a lapse as a reason to adjust the plan rather than abandon it. Do not choose nicotine strength from somebody else’s unverified anecdote.
Responsible-use note: Vaping and nicotine products are for adults aged 18 and over. Nicotine is addictive. Vaping is not harm-free, and people who do not smoke or use nicotine should not start.
For quitting support, the HSE recommends speaking with a stop-smoking adviser, GP or pharmacist and using licensed stop-smoking medicines. Read the HSE guidance on vaping and nicotine.
The Bottom Line
This page no longer relies on personal quotations or individual health claims. A verified, consented customer account should only be published after a separate factual review. Until then, honesty gets the byline.
